Overall Satisfaction with Druva inSync

Druva inSync is being and has been our backup solution of choice to protect all our users data on corporate owned machines for both onsite and remote employees across the organization. Aside for a number of issues backing up OneDrive for Business and local backup client stop backing up randomly for several users for a period of time, eventually these issues got resolved.
  • Protect data
  • Not a hardware resource-intensive app
  • Track equipment
  • Geo-location
  • Backup agent reliability
  • Support needs some improvement
  • Reporting
  • Centralized Solution so no more monitor independent backups
  • Peace of mind for most part
  • Some ROI but not as much as initially expected
As explained earlier aside from local user data our organization for the time being also uses the solutions to backup our Office 365 - Does an alright job but also very problematic at times. Once we have some more time to address some of these existing issues we might look into SP and Teams backup.
Non applicable or examples we can provide.
As mentioned before when it does work not many apps can do what Druva does even when looking at the cost which is not completely prohibited when compared to other solutions out there. Were had the opportunity to test other solutions over time, Carbonite, Datto, Mozy and not taking away from these solutions, aside from support Druva has been better in a number of aspects.
We were very satisfied with implementation, the entire process was pretty straight forward and easy even with much knowledge or experience with this solution. Admin interface was very intuitive in the creation of policies and agent profiles prior to deployment. Aside from some permission issues on the client side agent install is a breeze.

Are you happy with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did Druva Data Resiliency Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Druva Data Resiliency Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Druva Data Resiliency Cloud again?

Yes

Druva inSync is well suited for most mid sized organizations looking a centralized backup solution. Can become a bit of a headache on larger enterprises. This could be easily overcome if Druva support steps us a bit and backup client is thoroughly tested for bugs and incompatibilities before release.

COVID-19 Changes

In regards to Covid19, the new WFH normal, aside for the piece of mind knowing corporate data is safe and protected, Druva inSync hasnt had much impact on our now 100% remote enabled workforce.
Luckily at this time and to date, our organization has been fortunate not to be affected by ransomware or any malware that would require the need of Druva inSync, of course should that happen Druva is a strong partner and definitely someone we would most likely have to rely on.
In regards to COVID-19-related employee turnover challenges and looking from that perspective, yes. We did have to and rely on inSync to restore and preserve laid-off and furloughed employees' data which, aside from prompt data access from these users, it did provide peace of mind knowing in case we didn't get it back from the user, we still have the data available.

Using Druva inSync

150 - We use Druva at all levels of the business, from C-level to clerks.
1 - Basic support knowledge, currently a desktop technician is our go to for any Druva troubleshooting, installs, restores...
  • Safeguard user data
  • Assist with hardware retrieval
  • Hardware retrieval from remote end users
  • Backup SharePoint
  • Backup Teams
Even with a number of issues we encountered and came across we are satisfied with the product.

Evaluating Druva inSync and Competitors

Yes - Yes Druva replace Carbonite
  • Product Features
  • Product Reputation
  • Analyst Reports
Product feature and central management was a big factor.
I dont think we would change much, the solution we used although had a great price and licensing model, Druva was way better in many way, policies, security, integration...

Druva inSync Support

ProsCons
Good followup
Problems get solved
No escalation required
Less knowledgeable
Need to explain problems multiple times
Yes - As long as we would get proactive support
Yes - We did several times, related to selections on local synced files not backing up particularly with OneDrive for Business even thought policies were in place and according to Druva support they could find no issue for these location not backing up. After month working with Druva and reporting of these bug it was fixed.
A couple times with a couple of our remote users who lost a significant amount of data data after their PCs crashed, Druva support quickly helped us retrieve their data fast and effortlessly without our support team having to get involved to troubleshoot recovery issues we were having with the local Druva client.
A lot to be desire, we find ourselves on the phone with Druva support on a weekly basis not always get an answer. This happened during a large period where the local Druva backup client would not backup and had be be removed and reinstalled almost every week and was happening to a large number of end users.

Using Druva inSync

ProsCons
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Familiar
None
  • Admin user interface
  • Self serve easy to use user interface
  • Reporting
Easy to navigate user interface, when it works its great. Restores are a breeze and again, when agents work there are not many solutions out there that have the power of Druva inSync.
