Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Druva is used across our organisation extensively, through EMEA, the Americas and APAC. I personally use it on a subset of our servers in one country that needs online backup.

Pros and Cons

Ease of use.
Ease of installation.
Excellent de-duping.

Credits system can be confusing.

Return on Investment

Moved from horrendous physical Barracuda system which was very inflexible and awkward.
Major peace of mind and hours reclaimed since then.

Usability

The best backup software doesn't need much attention, and Druva has been a revelation in this regard. The credit system took some getting used to, but it's a price worth paying for the peace of mind.

Support Rating

On the rare occasions when we've needed support, it has been prompt and competent. Any issue I've encountered has been resolved quickly.

Alternatives Considered

Veeam Backup & Replication and Veritas Backup Exec

I rate Veeam highly, but Druva Phoenix is easier to use and scales up well. Install is more straightforward. Restores are coming from the cloud, so that is a constraint in terms of speed, but the tradeoff is worth it.
Backup Exec was a nightmare and was some of the worst software I've ever used.

Likelihood to Recommend

Druva Phoenix is excellent for any server that gets a lot of use.
