The luxury automobile of cloud backups
Overall Satisfaction with Druva Phoenix
We use Druva Phoenix across our entire companies data centers to provide secure and easy to access cloud backups for our sensitive systems. We especially like how easy it is to manage backups for all virtual machine types and their ability to recognize software types across the various systems.
- Backup of different Virtual Machine environments
- Fast restore on both file level and machine level
- Reporting on what is going on and when
- Supporting their product with excellent service staff who are knowledgeable and relatable
- Improve visibility into how much each system costs to backup
- Clean up the web UI
- Our ROI has increased due to the combination of having fewer backup solutions and cheaper storage per TB than previously relied upon vendors.
- Peace of mind that it works well and can be relied on when needed
We use Druva Phoenix for both Windows Hyper-V and VMware vCenter vSphere and physical environments. These machines are a mix of databases and file storage servers. We rely on Phoenix to backup remote physical servers without needing expensive onsite hardware that cannot be easily managed due to distance from available onsite staffing due to work from home restrictions.
In the past we used multiple vendors to accomplish our backup requirements. This was costly and time-consuming to manage. Staff had to know how to use different software and hardware platforms, which posed challenges with experience levels. Managing support contracts also for those platforms was a burden.
When we switched to Druva Phoenix, we were able to consolidate our backups into one platform with one support contract that was apart of the yearly backup costs. We didn't need all of the onsite hardware we had and were able to save money for future projects.

Druva stacks up well against its competitors. I do not remember it being at a disadvantage in any category. Phoenix couldn't provide message-level restore on an on-premise Exchange server but after we moved to the cloud that requirement went away.
