Druva Phoenix + VMware vSphere are a match made in heaven!

Overall Satisfaction with Druva Phoenix
Druva Phoenix is used in our virtual environment to back up all critical infrastructure. It allows us to easily take backups and move them off-site into the cloud, which kills two birds with one stone. It's also used to quickly test our restoration efforts by pulling down recent backups directly into our environment alongside the production systems.
- Integrates well with VMware vSphere.
- Annual health checks.
- Detailed reporting on credit consumption.
- Interface could use a revamp to be more intuitive.
- Appliances could do more snapshots at a time.
- Appliances could upload faster if allowed to utilize more than 1023mbps.
- Positive ROI by allowing us to get rid of our deduplication appliance
- Positive ROI by allowing us to change retention quickly and effectively.
- Positive ROI by encrypting in transit.
We are currently only using the virtual appliance to back up critical infrastructure in our VMware vSphere environment.
We have definitely benefited from the virtual appliances and not having to add additional hardware into our datacenter, once we realized we could benefit from an additional appliance (during an annual health check) we just added another one in a matter of minutes. It was a very convenient and simple roll out.
VDP wasn't being actively supported and so we needed a solution that would last us for years down the road, it was a blessing that we found Druva Phoenix when we did. The integration into vSphere was a critical piece in making the decision to go with Druva Phoenix over others.
