Overall Satisfaction with Duo Security

We have the Duo Beyond package for all our organisation. It is very useful to add an extra layer of security to login attempts across a wide range of applications. We use it primarily for cloud services, but also have been able to secure desktops and we are looking into the using the gateway to enable other applications too
  • Simple to approve access via Duo Push
  • Has integrations for a large number of applications with easy setup guides for admins
  • The ability to integrate with AMP for endpoints to provide conditional access only if device is updated is a useful extra feature
  • I haven't been using this for long, but I haven't found any issues with my experience to date
  • Duo gives us confidence to store more sensitive data in the cloud.
I am an administrator in the system and also a user and I have found both experiences to be simple to navigate. The administration interface has a common look to many modern web applications, and the help documentation is actually useful in explaining the steps needed to get things working. As an end user the enrolment of the android application was straight forward and approving access is very simple as it pops up on your phone on the correct screen
We have been fortunate to have not suffered data breaches in the past, but it is something that we have considered. That one a major factor in deploying this solution. We are now more confident in being protected as we can limit cloud access attempts to a particular geography and even if passwords are compromised are feel confident knowing that the real users mobile is also needed to get into our systems
I have not yet needed to contact support, other than when initially purchasing the subscription, but I can easily find access to support phone and email details in the administration screen. I have found the help documentation to be great at showing me the solution to my issues around how to get started and how to configure each application that I have not needed any further assistance.
The only support I have needed is the self-help documentation available on their website. This documentation is freely available to anyone, even without having a Duo subscription. it has enabled me to get started and to get many applications configured in only a few minutes each which makes the whole system a relatively simple process to administer.
I have been issued with RSA physical tokens in the past, but never had to administer those systems myself. The challenge with physical tokens these days is that everyone already carries a smart phone and so it makes sense to use that for extra security rather than needing to keep a separate device.
I think that Duo is well suited to adding that extra layer of security that is becoming important as more services are cloud based and hence accessible from anywhere. They have multiple authentication options available - push to a mobile app, code generation on that app, sending SMS or phone calls, and the ability for an admin to generate one time codes also.
