Overall Satisfaction with Encompass from Ellie Mae

We use Encompass for the entire mortgage department and all of our subgroups within. We get compliments from new Loan Officers all the time for having such a smooth and streamlined process! The reporting functionality is fantastic and I love that we can set our own rules and tasks.
  • staying on top of industry and regulatory processes and requirements
  • Keeping updates on the investor data and pushing that information out to the documents
  • integrating with external software providers- while I wish there were more on the list, the integration process is incredibly easy.
  • FHA ebinder uploads
  • using API in a standard format
  • some of the help desk personnel seem to need additional training.
  • I would be more inclined to attend the conferences if they weren't always in Las Vegas
  • the system integrations have increased our workflow process efficiency
  • Mortgage returns could use some work but the third party vendor integrations make it easier
  • should be easier to add a vendor to integration without having to go through the full approval process, even if that means a MISMO standard export of data.
Calyx is antiquated in comparison; the customized nature of Encompass sets it worlds apart from other LOS providers.
I'm of the opinion that this software could be used in any financing or servicing type function as it is so easily customizable.

  • adding custom fields is a cinch
  • it's so unique that we control what data is required and what tasks need to be completed
  • Persona access is so easy to use! and it's LOGICAL!!!
  • integrating a "non-approved" vendor
  • creating an FHA ebinder export file
Yes - We don't use it because the access is minimal and requires a separate login from there to the LO signature on the 1003 under consumer connect. it's just too many logins for minimal access
