Overall Satisfaction with F5 BIG-IP
We used Big-IP F5 to load balance a good number of web servers (front end, backed app servers, etc.). It has a number of advanced features that we used such as session stickiness and the ability to maintain session stickiness across various tiers of the application. We also used the ability to install SSL certificates at the load balancer level.

- Load balancing is a requirement in most serious web environments, and this allows us to keep sites up and running in the event of partial server outages.
- Keeping sites extra secured with the advanced security and routing features is a plus.
Netscaler and F5 Big-IP are very similar. I liked the Netscaler GUI a little better, but they both basically serve the same purpose quite well. Both are more advanced than the cheap/free software-based alternatives out there. Both can be clustered to avoid having a single point of failure at the load balancer level. Both can be programmed with custom rules to handle traffic routing.
