Overall Satisfaction with FirebirdSQL

We use it to deploy on Linux based environment and perform all staging activities on it. It offers low-print relational database systems that suites all kinds of pc applications which is great for us. It is able to handle up to 1TB of data and thus can accommodate our organization's needs and it also supports SQL.
  • Performance is really fast.
  • It is portable and easy to take back ups.
  • Its open n source and free.
  • More attention is needed when it comes to high availability and clustering features.
  • No embedded version for android.
  • Remote access can be quite slow
  • Friendly and powerful SQL language.
  • Zero maintenance.
  • Full text search.
  • Cost effective as it's free.
  • Effeciency with some speed test availability.
  • Low maintenance has saved us on operational costs.
It came a time when the practice of SQLite was lagging behind and of course, we were looking at the cost that was being involved and so Firebird made the breakthrough for us from both. It has an open-source license and it is easy to deploy on Windows and Linux environments.

When looking for low maintenance and a solution suited for all kinds of pc applications. It is great when you are looking to store physical files in folder locations and you can then reference the document in the database. It has an open-source community around it along with documentation for third-party drivers of the development environment.
