Overall Satisfaction with FreePBX
FreePBX is in use here to solve our inbound and outbound calling, servicing more than 20 unique inbound numbers, 40+ unique outbound numbers, 32 different call queues, and a whitelabel marketing form. Scope-wise, FreePBX handles all of our inbound calling, and the majority of our outbound calling covering over 15,000 minutes of airtime a month.
- Customization - OpenSource contributions are freely accepted
- Community Support - the developers are actively involved in the forums
- Dynamic configuration - complex call routing patterns are easy to configure
- APIs - many of the modules have API Stubs, or only have REST, or only GraphQL APIs
- Quality Control - acccepting open source contributions without much vetting has led to a decline in code quality.
- Multiple carrier / SIP Trunking integration
- Readily available APIs for many common functions
- Endpoint Management - creating configuration files from templates for physical phones
- FreePBX has a very low cost of entry, and great returns
- Modules are either free, or subscription based, but are all very economical
FreePBX was the only tool we found that allowed as deeply-integrated of customizations as we wanted, while giving us the ability to either host it onsite, or virtualize it into our own cloud instance.
