Overall Satisfaction with GiveSmart
Our organization used The GiveSmart platform in our annual fundraising efforts. We have used them to help host our annual gala— hybrid (online and live), for a couple of years, and strictly online during COVID-19. It is used primarily by 3 or 4 of us to run our silent auction during the event. It also helps with communication during the event. Using GS has created ease in auction bookkeeping, payments, and generating post-event thank you/tax letters.

- Uploading items and pictures.
- Generating thank you/tax letters.
- Making email and text communication easy.
- Need to add more options for video links.
- Some information in reports could be easier to find.
- Every year we have had at least one new contact— stability in staff would be helpful.
- Increased donations.
- Reaching people who aren’t attending event.
- Improvements in internal bookkeeping.
- Ease of thank you generation.
The online platform is okay— it has a template for you to use with various options but it is pretty standard. It would be nice if there were more options to make it “yours”. It is pretty cookie-cutter at this point, I would say. It would be nice to be able to use more images throughout the auction site. Most nonprofits use moving images to create emotional giving and it would be great to keep some of those images in large format to remind people why they are giving.
