Overall Satisfaction with GoDaddy
They were the original leader when it came to hosting and domain registrations...back in the Danica Patrick days...the good old days. We used them for every single domain and website that we built for ourselves or clients. Over the years, they have gotten greedy and changed pricing, louring you in with incredible deals then after a year tripling the price. And if you call for support, they will try to sell you everything under the sun, of which you do not need. We are starting to get away from them for these shady practices.
- Ease of searching available domains
- You go to purchase one thing and they sneak multiple things into the cart that you don't need
- The price is great for a year, then it triples on renewal
- If you call support, you are faced with talking to a computer for 10 minutes before getting a human
- Negative impact, we are working on transitioning to a different service provider
- Google Domains, IONOS, by 1&1 and HostGator
GoDaddy has gotten too big for themselves. They have gone very corporate, you can't really get support as easily as you used to, and their pricing is ridiculous. Not to mention they sneak things into your cart during the checkout process and reel you in with introductory pricing, only to triple the cost on renewal the next year.
