Overall Satisfaction with GoDaddy
I use GoDaddy for the last 15 years for domain names. I also used GoDaddy in the past for dedicated hosting services for a few years. Since them I moved to SoftLayer for dedicated hosting services but I am still using Godaddy for domain names and email services. So far the experience is great.
- hosting domain names
- hosting domain email services
- basic webhosting services
- The interface for domain DNS services is old and not convenient.
- The interface for hosting donain email services is old and not convenient.
- Relatively high price for domain renewals/purchases.
- GoDaddy is easy to use: purchase and configure domains - saves time/money for the user.
- GoDaddy is reliable: I haven't had any problems with my domains during the last 15 years: saved me a ton of time and money.
- Domain names have become significantly more expensive than before.
SoftLayer and HighVelocity are better in terms of advanced web hosting and dedicated hosting than GoDaddy in my opinion. GoDaddy's main business is domain hosting and basic web hosting and GoDaddy is better at it in my opinion. Amazon Route 53 provides simple domain and web hosting but I find GoDaddy to be more reliable than Route 53.
