Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Google App Engine to program in Python for data collection and data mining. This is solely being used for engineering and development. It solves the issue of having to manage your own server and allows your apps to be accessed from anywhere there is a computer and internet access. This makes it convenient for sharing between coworkers.

Reduces overhead to having to manage an onsite server. Personally it saves me time of having to run back ups every so often.

Usability

Google App Engine is very intuitive. It has the common programming language most would use. Google is a dependable name and I have not had issues with their servers being down....ever. You can safely use their service and store your data on their servers without worrying about downtime or loss of data.

Support Rating

I haven't had to use their support line as there is a forum with helpful people answering all your questions. Check stackoverflow or google groups for google app engine.

Alternatives Considered

AWS Cloud9 and AWS Lambda

The two giants are Google and Amazon. Both are very similar however Google App Engine allows you to deploy your web applications through platforms like Python where as if you're using AWS, you have full control on the operating system services. Google is good because you pay as you use it where as AWS, you get charged a minimum fee plus usage. I'm sure both support teams are very good.

Likelihood to Recommend

This PaaS is great because you can access your programs and builds anywhere with a computer and internet connection. It's relatively cheap and easy to use. It supports everything I needed so far.
