Overall Satisfaction with Google Charts
Google Charts in an alternative to Chart.js that comes with much more customization than Chart.js. We switched from Chart.js to Google Charts last year for internal dashboard rendering and it's much easier and quicker to built out custom dashboards. The documentation and customization of Google Charts has made creating charts much faster.
- The payload for Google Charts is only 43kb, much smaller than Chart.js.
- Easy to use.
- Easy to pick up if you've used Excel.
- Customizing them visually is hard. You basically get the Google color palette.
- Not easily integrated into other frameworks.
- Easy to implement means we spend less time on-boarding new devs.
Chart.js is another javascript alternative to Google Charts. It outputs charts in Canvas elements rather than SVG, so it's a bit easier to manipulate and make responsive.
