Overall Satisfaction with Google Forms

We have been using Google Forms to register for different student organizations and also as a means to schedule volunteers for different events. It is used across the whole organization, but certain professors use it more often than others. I have been using this for years and I use it as my primary way to collect information from students and other faculty members.
  • It is super simple to use
  • It has the ability to add multiple different fields
  • I love using the Google Sheets feed to parse my data after the fact.
  • It isn't as robust as other tools on the market such as Qualtrics
  • The ability to customize is lacking. There could be some improvements
  • [The] only way to restrict submission is to require a Google login
  • I have been able to speed up my process of data collecting at no cost
  • My students can also use this tool without having to add on additional seats or subscriptions
  • I have spent a little more time working with the data that could have been sped up with other solutions
Google Forms is cheaper, but it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as Qualtrics. I selected Google Forms because of the cost, but it also had 80% of the features I needed to make it work for my given situation. I like the collaboration feature and the connection to Google Sheets.

Do you think Google Forms delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Forms's feature set?

Yes

Did Google Forms live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Google Forms go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Google Forms again?

Yes

I'll say this. Google Forms has the features in place in order to get the job done. It might not be as robust as its competitors, but it is perfect for a marketing department professor who has a shoestring budget and needs to have a data collection system that is quick and easy to use.
Honestly - It's Google. There is a level of confidence I have with Google support and the only time I have used their support it was quick and easy. I sent my question over via email and had an answer within 24 hours. My problems [were] solved and I was able to get back to work.
If you are in need of collecting information quickly, you set up a form in a matter of minutes and start collecting data within the hour. If you need responses for a class, a meeting, or a committee, you can use this in conjunction with Outlook. I also share Google Forms links through Canvas to make life easy in the classroom.
