Overall Satisfaction with Google Hangouts

We use it regularly for our sales team meetings. We have a big group (about 20-30 people) and many of them are located many states away from our HQ. Communications run very fluid and with very low latency. It also has superior audio quality compared to other similar apps. It has a great tool for desktop/slideshow sharing.
  • It's totally free.
  • You can run it in almost any platform.
  • It's very easy to set up and use, with a clean and intuitive interface.
  • It doesn't have Chromecast support for video streaming.
  • It requires a stable and relatively high bandwidth.
  • There are minor bugs from time to time
  • Enhanced communications with customers.
  • Better strategy deployments within our team.
  • It's free, so it doesn't require any money investment.
It is very similar to Skype, but I found (at least in my experience) that video and especially audio quality is better. Maybe it is because of the codecs Google can handle through cloud computing. Also, Hangouts requires much less space in your disk/smartphone than Skype does, and it runs smoothly in more basic PCs.
We've only experienced some minor bugs a couple of years ago regarding audio quality (the voice used to sound a little "robot-like") so we contacted customer support after it repeated 2 or 3 times, and they guided us until the problem was solved and we never had that problem again. It was the only situation in which we needed assistance, and it was great.
It is great when you do video calls often with your clients, or when you have routine meetings and some of your team members are spread across the country (or others countries, it won't make a difference). The only case I don't see it very well suited to is if you can't have access to a regular internet connection/speed.

Using Google Hangouts

It just works. Maybe you can experience very minor flaws or bugs from time to time (not a problem at all). You just need a google account (Gmail) and you're good to go. And best of all: It is free. The cost-benefits ratio is simply perfect, and audio/video quality is excellent as long as you can have a stable internet connection with decent speeds (no less than 2 Mbps, I'd say).
