We use Hangouts' chat as an enterprise instant messaging platform in the same way other businesses might use Discord or Slack. We have been in the Google ecosystem for years now since the days of Google Talk and we've moved along with its instant messaging products and now we're on chat.

Since Google Hangouts Chat comes integrated with G-suite, it just works without any adjustments to our organization's workflows. Other products fail on that front and therefore are not encouraged to be used.
