Overall Satisfaction with Grovo
We used Grovo at my company so that entire teams and departments could learn various coding languages and softwares at once. It's a super helpful software that provides very easy to follow instruction videos (called lesson tracks) that explain the language or software, and follow it up with a series of short quizzes to make sure you understand the material. It does a great job of tracking your progress and gives you incentive to keep on going.
- Lesson Tracks
- Quizzes following the lessons, so the material is retained
- Reports Progress
- Could use a broader range of material
- A more palatable interface (although it's still pretty)
- Positive ROI based on departments that needed training were able to learn the language they needed, saving engineering time and costs.
The elephant in the room for me, would be TreeHouse. Grovo is very similar to TreeHouse in the fact that they're both programs with lesson tracks, simple and short videos, as well as progress trackers. I would have to say that I enjoyed learning coding on TreeHouse over Grovo, based on the wide variety of native coding languages they have implemented. Grovo, although extremely similar and easy to use as well, doesn't stack up to TreeHouse in my opinion. Grove does, however, beat out Lynda in my humble opinion.
