Overall Satisfaction with HCSS

The 1-800 number is very responsive and customer support works hard to help find a solution.

The link to the on-line help manual is not helpful at all. It was much better 2 years ago when hitting F1 would take you directly to the appropriate section of the Help Manual, instead of the web-site.
HCSS is helpful with implementation, but the yearly upgrade always has bugs and it is best to wait until they go through at least one update.
HCSS HeavyBid is used across the estimating department.
  • Mass changes and updates to the estimate.
  • Retrieves data quickly.
  • The system tends to run very slow on large jobs with multiple users, especially subsystems such as quote comparisons.
  • The system loses margin with some combinations of spread over-rides.
  • Common windows features like dragging, dropping, copy/paste are cumbersome.
HeavyBid is great for unit price estimates.
