Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We use Heap for all of our product analytics. It's mostly used by the Engineering and Marketing teams. The main use is funnels and looking at conversion across different segments of customers. We also use it for product usage, how many people performed X, how many people performed X then performed Y. Are people using new feature X?
  • Funnels
  • Integrations (Stripe, Snowflake, etc)
  • Retroactive event storage
  • Product usage/on boarding (i.e. how do non-analyst folks find data)
  • Surfacing existing reports/data
  • Heap helps us measure conversion and engagement metrics.
I sometimes find it a bit hard to navigate and to get at what I'm looking for. I feel like I have to spend a lot of time grooming it in order to make things a bit easier to work with. There are a lot of features and that can get a little bit overwhelming when all I really need to do is execute a single use case.
I've never had any issues with speed or performance. Heap has always met my standards for web app usability!
The big thing for me, that I've mentioned already, is Heap storing all event data retroactively. That's what keeps me with Heap. Google Analytics is industry standard and connected very intimately with all of the ad networks, so we have to use it, even if I think Heap is a superior tool for the funnel and analytics. Mixpanel was fine, but when we made the switch to Heap, Heap's pricing was for what was offered was much better (that may have changed in the last 5+ years, but that was it at the time).

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

I get peace of mind from Heap because I know it's tracking/storing all of the clicks and events happening on our website, even if I don't know that data is important to me yet. Being able to spin up a new event and then see the historical usage of it is super valuable. Marketers tend to be more comfortable in GA, but I find GA clunky, horribly documented, and inconsistent from a data perspective. I trust Heap to have accurate data and give me so much more power for analysis and reporting.
