Overall Satisfaction with Heap
For the product team, Heap is being used to understand the behaviour of our users along with the basic SaaS metrics like WAU and MAU. PMs typically use it to gauge the success of a feature and track engagement/adoption. It is also being used as a data collection tool and the data points are being used downstream to create a business analytics dashboard for LT team.
- Conversion funnels to understand if user is completing a desired journey
- Track WAU, MAUs, and time spent
- Understand how users are interacting with our core features
- Unlike Google Analytics, Heap doesn't provide us [an] easy way to access the performance of an application.
- [A] clear difference between what events and user properties can and cannot do will help people apply this better.
- Currently, Heap works for web and mobile apps but doesn't work with [the] desktop apps.
- Defining the success and measuring it with 30, 60, and 90 days is a must for all PMs. Heap helps us reflect on the features we've delivered and measure the quantifiable value we have generated.
- Heap has an interface for connecting the dots between the success of a feature and how they roll up to business KPIs.
Heap has an edge on Google Analytics due to auto-capture and ease of defining events. Heap has an edge on Hotjar, as it helps build funnels and has powerful filter/group by capabilities. FullStory is just session recording and focuses on one aspect of [the] engagement.
