Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite
We use Hootsuite to automate our social media posts across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for our entire organization. We also use it as a convenient platform to monitor engagement with our target audience of interior designers. Having our social platforms accessible in one place is a real time saver for us since our marketing team is lean and responsible for many functions.
- Consolidated platform for multiple social media properties
- Ability to preview & schedule posts
- Planner view to see easily what's going out and when
- Can't post multiple images on an Instagram post. That's a real pain!
- We were struggling to keep up our social media engagement working with individual properties, so Hootsuite has helped us manage them much more efficiently.
- In combination with hiring a Marketing Coordinator, Hootsuite has also become an effective lead generation tool since we have capacity to post and respond to potential customer engagement.
- Buffer
Main other tool we looked at was Buffer. While I like both of them, the free version of Hootsuite allowed us to connect to 3 social media platforms and we prefer the calendar and stream layouts for management of activity.

Hootsuite Customer Engagement and Support
Most of our customer engagement on social media platforms comes through Facebook and Instagram and we manage posts, mentions and engagement through Hootsuite. Because we have a very small marketing team and they wear other hats besides marketing, prior to Hootsuite, our social media management was very inconsistent. The main benefit that I've realized from Hootsuite is the ability to manage our social media strategy across the relevant social media platforms all in one place and spend a few hours prescheduling posts for several weeks and coordinating with our email marketing strategy so that we achieve consistency in our social media presence. It's a lot easier to have one place to go to view all activity on multiple streams, so the primary benefit for us is time savings, which is all a result of Hootsuite.
I have only used the Hootsuite's customer support once and response was fast resolution. Like most web apps, Hootsuite has an automated help bot that's pretty good and can give answers to most basic questions. Most, if not all, my support needs have been satisfied with either the help center or the Hootsuite Platform Training in the Hootsuite Academy. I have yet to pay for one of the more advanced Hootsuite Academy courses. Hootsuite is one of the industry leaders in social media management, so there are a lot of users out there. More often than not, I just ask someone else I know who uses Hootsuite how to do something and that takes care of most of my needs, next step would be the help center articles and then (rarely for me) chatting with a support rep.
Using Hootsuite
1 - Our Marketing Coordinator uses Hootsuite free to schedule all of our social media posts. He is also responsible for all other digital and traditional marketing efforts.
