Overall Satisfaction with Planful (formerly Host Analytics)
We use Host for global budgeting. All parts of our business budget revenue, expense, and capital in Host once a year.
- The Cloud model allows any employee across the globe to access Host easily.
- The reporting module is fantastic. Host has done a great job of build hierarchies in their chart of accounts to allow for flexible and easy report building.
- Template setups in the budget module allow for a great deal of flexibility.
- The consolidation module is not the most user friendly module. We evaluated the module and decided not to use it. So I'm not completely up to speed on where the module stands today.
- Some aspects of the system can be slow. But Host is always working on improving speed and I do see improvements all the time.
- While Host handles foreign currency very well there are a few small places where functionality is lacking.
- We moved from an Excel based budgeting system and without Host we would not have been able to keep up with the growth of the company.
- In the first year of licensing we put 140 managers into Host and it was FAR cheaper than a tool like Hyperion.
Cheaper than Hyperion and a better platform that the other cloud systems. We also looked at some Excel based budgeting systems but they all fell well short of our requirements.
