Overall Satisfaction with Planful (formerly Host Analytics)

This solution is primarily used by finance for consolidations reporting and budgeting and forecasting.

Pros

  • Host does a decent job of reporting summary account level data.
  • Host reports collections with bursting capabilities.
  • Host provides some efficiencies for structuring variables for use in reporting.

Cons

  • Reporting graphically is cumbersome.
  • Data structure is limited.
  • The application is a bit slow.
  • Definitely improved efficiency of reporting over all for information that we had to compile in Excel.
  • Increase access to all users to a wide range of reporting.
  • Negative is that finance managed FP&A tools required development of a finance team to support them. This is costly unless your team has extra bandwidth.
I was not a decision maker. Host lacks language capabilities for large global companies. Host also lacks planning or reporting capability for any time increments less than one month.
This a solid simple financial planning and analytics tool.
