Overall Satisfaction with Planful (formerly Host Analytics)

Today Host Analytics is being used just by the finance team -- it helps us scale our financial planning from zero to one. Huge boost for team productivity.
  • Excel integration via Modeling Cloud
  • Robust out-of-the-box feature set, particularly in terms of payroll
  • Easy connection to your Accounting ERP via boomi connection
  • No size limitations (# of scenarios, model complexity size)
  • User interface could be more attractive and approachable
  • Better visualization tools within the application (e.g. charts, tables, etc)
  • Overall system speed -- particularly in terms of switching between templates
  • Allowed Finance team to effectively scale as company rapidly scaled
  • Enabled better decision making due to timely, accurate data
We selected Host Analytics due to (i) strong out of the box feature set, (ii) best excel integration among cloud tools, (iii) no model size limit, (iv) simple pricing, (v) solid customer references
Well suited: investment planning, compensation planning, excel integration, planning for organizations < 10k employees, planning at startups

Less appropriate: revenue modeling, planning for organizations > 10k employees, planning for organizations with > 20 Finance team members actively using the system

Planful Features and Attributes

Once we found the right support members my team has had relatively good experience customer service with Planful support. Fairly responsive and helpful. They would partner with us to notify of platform downtime which was important in our tight planning cycles.

Robust platform that can be tailored to your teams needs...not the best user interface...but it still gets the job done. The out of the box compensation planning was refreshing.
Big improvement...hooked Planful up to Oracle for financials and Workday for headcount data. Improved my productivity meaningfully.
Planful served as our robust single source of truth from scrappy startup through IPO. Standard reporting packages are much easier to create now. Multiples team members do not have to second guess their work now leading to more efficiency.
