Overall Satisfaction with HP SiteScope
We are currently using HP Sitescope mostly to emulate a user using VuGen LoadRunner Scripts to log into our website to ensure our products are online. We also are using some of the monitors to verify services are running.
- SiteScope emulates users with the use of scripts and without fail it has alerted us to potential application issues.
- SiteScope could be a bit more user friendly.
- The interface is very "clunky" and slow. It is also difficult sometimes to find what you are looking for.
- Sitescope does exactly what it was purchased for. It may take some time to set it up but once its set up it is a rock solid product.
- SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor
As far as the interface goes Solarwinds is much prettier and intuitive but it is also a very busy interface which makes navigation difficult at times. Also setting up alerting under Solarwinds requires you access the desktop of the machine running the application whereas SiteScope does not. The Alerting is also much more difficult to setup correctly on SolarWInds where SiteScope is a breeze.

Evaluating HP SiteScope and Competitors
- Product Features
- Existing Relationship with the Vendor
SiteScope was the only product that I found that could emulate a user logging into a website exactly how a user would normally log in.
I wouldnt. I would purchase SitesScope without evaluating other products. Sometimes you just stick with a solid performer.
