Overall Satisfaction with HxGN EAM
HxGN Enterprise Asset Management was implemented to help with improving the effectiveness of the organization’s asset management solution. Specifically how we used the product was for managing equipment; some of these assets could be located at various buildings. Prior to implementing this solution many of the asset management was quite decentralized and thus tracking and reporting at a consolidated level was difficult. For example, some of the asset lists were kept using local spreadsheets and logs. Trying to get a view of everything, especially if assets were moved from one location to another was difficult. HxGN EAM provided a practical solution that enables better and real-time reporting. This help with optimizing operations.
- Real-time reporting; this was an improvement on the stand-along Microsoft Excel-based reports
- Integrates with Oracle; linking to an enterprise system help to link with the ledger
- Generally user friendly; the user interface and navigation is relatively intuitive to use
- Faster loading of pages (sometimes slow/laggy); for example, when logging into the page we found a lot of times the page would render for quite a while before loading
- Better interface for mobile users; when opening the product from a mobile phone it was often difficult to navigate so there were times we just waited to get to a desktop
- Integration with current system; for example, the opportunity to link assets to ledger
- Easy for users to use; the product needed to be intuitive and easy for all levels for example from technical clerks to upper management
- Good reporting; consolidated reporting to get a view of all assets across many sites
- Helps with more efficient decision-making and tracking; for example, closer and accurate tracking is an early indication if an asset needs to be replaced
- Organizes inventory of assets; tracking the assets across multiple sites and buildings and giving an easier system to move and manage a full picture view
- AssetWorks Enterprise Asset Management (EAM System) and IBM Maximo
HxGN EAM is relatively comparable. Much of the software solutions for large enterprise businesses offer relatively comparable features and functionality. For example, integration with our organization's asset management strategy. The set-up of the asset management is organization-specific depending on the type of assets. At our organization, it was primarily equipment and buildings. HxGN EAM stacked up well against the other major solutions such as SAP EAM, IBM Maximo, etc. It may be best to include it as part of the options assessed for a solution to consider.
