Overall Satisfaction with IBM Clinical Development

IBM Clinical Development is being used for building clinical studies which is then set live, so that the site can enter data which is monitored and stats runs analysis.
  • It is an electronic data capture where we can build studies, collect data, monitor data and edit- check.
  • We can also issues queries, generate reports, attach additional documentation.
  • It has the ability for electronic signature.
  • The system does not have much electronic trial master filing function.
  • I dont think it accepts documents in various format like pdf, Word, Excel, etc.
  • There has been definitely positive impact since at one place you have the CRF's and instrument imports; site[s] can enter data and monitors can clean them and issue queries. Also, there is audit trail where everything gets recorded.
  • Negative - I would say that it is expensive.
Electronic data management system which is Abbott owned system. The system cannot be currently used outside of Abbott.
IBM Clinical Development has lot of features but we don't use all of them. There are much more features like Source document module, site document module, medical coding module, Inventory dispensing module, etc. which might be used for pharma studies. Overall usability, I would rate it at 7 since it would be nice to have more eTMF functions.
IBM Clinical Development support team respond[s] immediately when we contact them. Also, if they are not able to provide a solution immediately, they do let us know or keep us posted about the status of our issue. So far, the experience has been good.

IBM Clinical Development has lot of features and is definitely well suited for building clinical studies but, I think some of its features would be [better] suited for pharma studies than diagnostic studies.
