Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers
IBM Bare Metal Servers are currently being used in one of our deployments. We are in general delighted by the uptime and quality. IBM really needs to improve on its documentation. Other cloud platforms provide better documentation.
- Overall Quality
- Ease of Deployment
- Performance
- Documentation
- Connectivity to other platforms
- Pricing can be made more flexible
- It is slightly expensive. However it is reliable.
- In general our client is overall product provided.
- Supporting operations is difficult due to lack of documentation.
The robotic manufacturing system implemented by our company generates data at very high speed. There are over 90000 sensors in the project that capture data at the fraction of a second. The almost maxed out Intel Xeon Server could not handle the workload. With such a high IOPS bare metal servers help us with scaling at ease.
IBM has one of the fastest deployment times. The competitors are almost neck to neck.
- Huawei Cloud Bare Metal Server (BMS)
Huawei was our first consideration. However, it had significant operational difficulties. Hence we had to move away from Huawei.
- IBM Watson IoT
We build IoT applications for the manufacturing industry. IBM is one of our forerunning choices at the moment (other being Azure). IBM stack is spread out. Azure is more collected.
