Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cognos
STEF group has been using IBM Cognos since 1999. We are now using version 10.2.1 to address business intelligence of every business need in the group, from Human Resources, Purchase, Controlling to Transportation and Logistics operations and Sales and Marketing.
Our BI information system collects information on every transactional system used in the group: SAP for Back-Office, Salesforce for Sales, Transportation Management System and Warehouse Management System.

- With Report Studio, you are able to address every business need in terms of rendering complexity.
- IBM Cognos is a real integrated platform. You develop ONE business model (framework) and it is useable with every tool of the platform.
- IBM Cognos is easy to install and maintain. We performed an upgrade from version 8 to version 10 internally without the help of IBM or any consulting company.
- From my point of view, the user interface is a real area for improvement.
- SAP Business Objects
Oracle BIEE is the worst BI platform I ever seen in terms of complexity to install and complexity to use. Integration between tools is not finished at all. I recommend to not select this platform. SAP Business Objects seems to be the same platform as the one acquired by SAP - no improvement. I don't on which topics the development teams are focused. It is not an innovation for end-users.
