The majority of the apps were either self-developed or constructed using 4GL. This enabled us to ensure that all apps could be readily interconnected with one another.
These programs were incorporated into IBM Power servers because they had been in use for several years at the time of the integration.
When compared to other types of systems, IBM Power servers have a significantly lower personnel need. Additionally, the IBM Power servers are significantly easier to administer since they enable integrated security, database, and printing services rather than requiring separate servers for each activity, as is the case with many other platforms. As a result of the poor performance of Java-based applications on IBM Power servers, they are not recommended for use.
