Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power servers

  • S922

I use IBM Power Systems in my project and use it to store the insurance policies and write business code against the data to validate and process the data. My project is highly dependent on this data which is stored in IBM Power System, the reason we use IBM Power Systems is that it is very very fast and reliable
  • Fast data processing
  • Almost Malware free
  • Can handle large volume
  • Minimum code for doing the job
  • Good support from IBM
  • Missing many built in function
  • Can make multi linguistic
  • Should improve the support of other programming languages

Do you think IBM Power servers delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with IBM Power servers's feature set?

Did IBM Power servers live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Power servers go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy IBM Power servers again?

Yes

  • Use of it increased the productivity by 40-45%
  • Large volume loads saves 60% of time as other systems
  • Complex Business logics van be implemented
Of course, the security feature provided by the power systems is really great, no additional tools or technologies are needed to secure the data lying in IBM Power System either at run time or even when stationary
  • Home-Grown Applications

We use this for storing policies and interacting with open source technologies applications like java based systems. But the power systems can surely be used for the above-mentioned options. I have friends using the power systems for SAP and also data from oracle.
Yes, this is a really good point, the simplest can be to use IBM cloud, but I use our power systems to integrate it with Microsoft Azure cloud. I used a power system to send communication from my app to other app using the azure service bus and event grid I send events from power systems to azure and other apps subscribe to those event grids and receive the data
I did not use any related product
For the domains which have complex business logic and process large volume data sets then IBM Power System is the best fit, the development can be little tricky in its native programming language but it supports a basket of programming languages which are known in the technical world. IBM Power Systems are great in terms of security and support from IBM itself with very less hassle
