  • IBM Power Servers provide the advanced micro partition feature to create virtual servers with .05 CPU from 1 Physical CPU.
  • We can extend the physical resource of IBM Power Servers with advanced VM features like COD.
  • It provides resource scalability.
  • It provides a flexible environment and allows the configuration of the different OS as per application dependency.
  • It is easy to Implement and manage IBM Power Server from HMC.
  • We can configure virtual resources like network card, HBA card and cd-rom, etc.
  • It's not compatible with Microsoft Window OS.
  • It is a costly server, but could offer affordable options for small companies.
  • A small client does not prefer to use IBM Power Servers due to high cost as they prefer to go with a Cloud option to maintain their data and save on cost.

  • IBM Power Servers increase the application response time and provide data protection.
  • We can create more than one virtual server with different OS configuration in same power server.
  • It offers a hybrid cloud solution.
  • System Recovery is excellent in case of any major crash because IBM provides more than one method to recover it.
  • IBM Support is much better as we faced a recent major business outage and we got quick support from IBM to fix the issue to run the business in a smooth way.
We are using the IBM Power Servers in our Insurance and Banking projects to run the different OS and application. We have some application dependency to run over RHEL and SUSE platform and IBM Power Servers allow us to implement the same along with AIX OS on same physical server. Performance and security functionality much better. IBM Power Servers are well suited for those customers who want faster response and data protection. It's not recommended for small clients because maintenance costs are too high.
