Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power System LC922 (discontinued)

IBM Power System LC922 is used across many departments and will be focused now to integrate multiple applications with a new cloud initiative. It's used to improve speed and processing time for applications and also reduces downtime due to software or hardware problems.
  • Fast and flexible
  • Reliable as all IBM products
  • Integrates very easily into any environment
  • Expensive; IBM is usually a higher cost for a reason
  • High learning curve; may take some time to learn the ins and outs
  • Documentation could use some improvement on the SAP side

Yes

  • Easy adaptability for multiple applications
  • High performance helps meet SLA
  • Hardware repair is a little complex and we wish the components could be simplified in both fixing and finding replacement hardware
IBM Power System LC922 handled large datasets well without the complexity of a cloud environment. I believe IBM Power System LC922 outperforms most hardware vendors in both performance and support. The ease of opening problem tickets and getting either service or replacement hardware with IBM is much easier than with any other vendor we currently use.
  • Good for large data inputs for midsize to larger organizations.
  • Easy to deploy; it may not be cost effective for all environments however it is very scalable and you have the ability to start out small subset of data and increase more workloads as needed.
  • This is recommended anywhere that application performance or network visibility is a problem; it can handle multiple streams at once flawlessly and improve overall performance and reliability.
