Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power Systems
The system is the backbone of our ERP Financials System, content management system and file and data distribution system. The system addresses our needs for managing financial data for our JDE EnterpriseOne System and related home grown systems that help manage our clients assets. The security and stability of the IBM Power Systems is why we chose to again go with this hardware. We have been on IBM Power Systems since 1989 and were one of the first installations of the AS400 System.
- The system manages the database side effortlessly.
- The inherent built-in security of the system protects and maintains our system integrity.
- The support and OS patching system is top-notch compared to Microsoft and other OS patching processes.
- The system is easily configurable and resources can be re-allocated with a few clicks.
- I honestly do not have any issues with the Power System. Our previous Power 8 System lasted for over 5.6 years with minimal hardware issues. 24x7x365x5.6 years...incredible!

- Overall system performance has greatly improved.
- Employee efficiency is up because of the faster response times and batch processing times.
- Employee complaints have been reduced related to response times.
The S914's performance is incredible and has surpassed the previous earlier versions. The dollars spent for the new IBM Power 9 S914 were less than the previous systems. The system footprint in the rack is much smaller. The power consumption is lower than in previous models. This is very important as we have moved to a colocation model and are charged for the power separately. So, we are spending less than we did on power with the previous model.
