Overall Satisfaction with IBM Watson Assistant

Since we had a small marketing team, and little to the non-existent analytics team, it was of incredible benefit to have an AI analytics tool to implement and withdraw valuable intel and data. Our scope was using it for ROI analysis, performance and effectiveness metrics of our sales team, and the implementation of new tactics and methods which affected investor satisfaction and vendor integration (we built hotels, and funded them with part investment by foreigners).
  • Insight to new market development opportunities
  • Time savings of brute work for actionable results
  • Facilitates the implementation of high-level tech without training
  • Learning curve for AI to adapt to our application / specific fields
  • Sometimes its way too much data, trying to narrow it down
  • Lack of free trial - could be sink or swim
  • 25% increased ROI based on new tactics implemented and effective use of time management
  • about a clean double of the number of organized data points, from not using IBM Watson
  • The price of IBM Watson did take up 40% of our marketing budget
Again, there is a slight learning curve if picking it up from scratch, without any free trial or sandbox from IBM Watch as many videos as you can to get a head start. The system and AI are rather intuitive and it's similar to working with an overachieving data analytics specialist who will give you way too much data, but it does have a way to make it easy to filter and hone in on what you want to measure (eventually). Speech to text was discovered late but came in super handy for our non-tech savvy product specialist and director of development.
Some of our senior team members aren't the most tech-savvy and pretty old-fashioned, especially with technology so most features flew over their heads. The voice and text integration was a huge success for them to implement variables and factors worth tracking and mid-project updates. The younger, more quick-to-learn team members preferred to manually adjust and input their variables. Conflict resolution was an interesting addition, but not really used in-depth for our industry as we would generally work with a single relationship at a time; no multi-level variables that could impact each other, other than our own team.
My company is currently using Adobe Analytics, as we use a variety of products from the Adobe suite, so it has integrated very well. In comparison, the learning curve was little to non-existent as our experience with trials and training, let alone customer support from Adobe was 7-star worthy. Salesforce Einstein does not compare to the level of feedback and product capabilities that Watson or even Adobe offer, but it's a great starting point for smaller companies that lack the budget or analytics team for the actual analytics from these platforms. SAP was a bit of a thunderstorm experience - we had power and system outages while implementing, so we never got the full experience. Yet our IT department said there was something strange about the integration that caused us to have to overhaul our entire intranet after we exited that product's usage.

As mentioned before, IBM Watson was implemented to compile the integration of outside vendors and our sales tactics, and how it affected our ROI while also giving actionable intel into methods of improvement, and being able to remove outlier data. If a new vendor (let's say a contractor/construction company) had a particular way of setting up their workflow, it needed to integrate into how our sales team could show the progress of the builds to investors, so they could see forward progress with the project. By implementing a number of variables, including 3rd party technologies like Salesforce and Jack Henry, we could manage time more efficiently - IBM Watson could pick up on variables that affect our bottom line. It seems obvious but with so many variables and data to consume at any given time, IBM Watson could highlight workable points and what areas to stray away from, after interpreting our data. The learning curve was relatively low, but the lack of free trial was a tricky one to pitch to management. One of our contractors gave us a sandbox trial (which also helped them seal the deal with us using them for our last hotel build).
