Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use iCims Talent Acquisition Software within our HR department to collect resumes, post jobs, communicate with potential candidates and schedule meetings. The system allows us to do a lot more within the module rather than using the module and doing other things offline (such as emailing candidates and scheduling interviews). It is a definite upgrade from our former system which was pretty rudimentary. There are even more features available to us that we aren't using just yet; need to find the time to implement them (e.g. hiring manager access, outside recruiter access).

Pros and Cons

The interface is great
The ability to manage the recruiting process within the system
Ability to see history of candidates

Could be a tad more user-friendly - you absolutely have to complete training to use the system, would be nice if it were a little more intuitive.

Return on Investment

It's allowed us to save time in the hiring process by adding "knock-out" questions which will save us a lot of time in the long run.
It's provided our candidates a more seamless job application process.

Alternatives Considered

Sterling and Luceo

We liked the overall interface better and were able to get a great price. I really liked CareerBuilder's as well, but ultimately we were getting more bang for our buck with iCIMS.

I think it's better for larger companies - a smaller firm isn't going to need everything that they offer - we are just under 500 employees and sometimes I feel like it's even too much for us, but it's been a good move for our company. It's a robust system with a lot to offer.
