Overall Satisfaction with Impact (formerly Impact Radius)

Since we use FastSpring as our payment service provider, we were pleasantly forced use Impact as our affiliate system. We use it to allow resellers to become our affiliates via Impact. This is important for us because we create software solutions and partners can sell our software to their audience for a commission. I like that Impact integrates with FastSpring very easily. So in the end, because they are partners and it makes our life easier as a client of both.

The main business problem that it solves for us is that Impact is used as our main affiliate management system. All of our affiliate partners go through Impact to register as our affiliates and promote our software in exchange for a commission %.
  • Dedicated affiliate management dashboard. It has a ton of great details for those who heavily rely on affiliate sales.
  • Impact seems to be very user-friendly towards new affiliates. This is important because many partners can be new to reselling your product.
  • Huge database of affiliates and companies that you can find to partner with and cross-sell your products.
  • Impact doesn't do a good job of filtering out trashy affiliates. In other words, it's not going to bring you a ton of quality affiliates without you doing the actual work. For example, we receive tens of low-quality coupon based websites that for some reason have 5-star ratings.
  • Background check and sales channel details from potential affiliates could be more transparent. It would be really helpful to see how the reseller plans to promote your products upon checking their application.
  • Create a direct link to a partner that you've negotiated with privately is not as easy is it was with FastSpring, when they had an internal solution (before partnering up with Impact).
  • We receive 2,500+ clicks every month thanks to affiliates from Impact
  • Since we started using Impact, our revenue grew by 7%
  • Due to some fraud issues, we've lost around $500 from partner. Though, Impact was very helpful in taking our hand and walking us through to solve this asap.
I'd like to point out that we don't like the inability to easily set up quick affiliate campaigns for our partners via email across promos. We are software developers and we sell software to audiences of other software companies. This way we can provide our solution to more people. But Impact doesn't have a very easy to way to create a special link for a particular partnership with a fair 50/50 split. Or at least I wasn't educated enough for them to do this.

As mentioned previously, Impact will not bring you a ton of quality affiliates without you doing the actual work. But if your product craves to be resold by others – I recommend Impact if you're looking for a good affiliate management system.
