Overall Satisfaction with Informatica MDM - Product 360 (PIM)

Large amounts of information are captured, generally structured, at the moment, for purely analytical purposes, where precision or a high level of quality is not an essential requirement. We use the management of several repositories in wholesale banking creating a "Golden Data" that could be used by all the bank's branches and offices in the world. Also, we try to use an Enterprise Data Governance framework. Not work properly.
  • The central console is quite intuitive and easy to use.
  • Middleware connectivity is integrated in a correct way, from external applications (Using SIP API) or internal apps.
  • The loading time is not fast enough when we talk about a lot of data.
  • The validation rules contribute to slow down the processes in the created repositories.
  • It provides repositories with easy access from anywhere in the world as it is in the cloud.
  • It complies with internal data governance regulations, it does not comply with many banking regulatory requirements.
  • It is relatively easy to model repositories, needs to improve latency times with internally designed validation rules.
  • For the moment we think that does not have much impact on the business objectives of the bank.
  • Good governance of the NOT CRITICAL DATA in the bank.
  • Good integration with bank internal or external systems.
Informatica MDM was chosen instead of Ignitum-ndf.com, Ignitum being better, due to price, company support, and, above all, because there are more installations that use Informatica MDM as a "golden data" solution. Another driving factor in choosing Informatica MDM was the cloud-native feature, which is associated with the Kubernetes container platform. The modeling of the data structures is quite intuitive and comfortable, not so much the report.

Do you think Informatica MDM delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Informatica MDM's feature set?

Yes

Did Informatica MDM live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Informatica MDM go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Informatica MDM again?

Yes

If you have other Informatica products in your infrastructure, for example, AXON for Data Governance, and Entity 360 you can have better MDM usability. One of the most useful advantages is that the repositories can be stored in the cloud through connectors with the destination database, as long as there is a good transfer speed and confidence in the security of the data in the cloud. I would recommend using hybrid clouds and not trying your luck with critical or sensitive data (GDPR) The overall experience has been good. On many occasions, it is a bit complicated to use and we have had to go to support without the response obtained being very satisfactory. I am not recommended for critical data or decision data in a bank.
