Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

Insightly is used exclusively by me to add contacts into our email marketing program. We are a small company without a formal CRM, so Insightly helps to keep contacts organized in one place to be uploaded into our email service. Sales people within our organization will forward emails to Insightly to help me capture those contacts for future email marketing.
  • Importing lists of several email contacts to Insightly is very easy and quick.
  • Exporting contacts out of Insightly is just as easy as importing them. I do this weekly for our email campaign.
  • Insightly was really easy to implement - just like they claim, a new user can get up to speed right away.
  • It'd be even better if Insightly kept me signed in on my computer beyond just one day. That way, I could log in immediately on the service on the same computer. I can do this with all other accounts (i.e. YouTube, LinkedIn, Gmail, our email marketing service, our project management database, etc.). Insightly is the only service that requires daily log ins. *Thank you for making the "stay signed in" button automatically checked - this has been helpful in saving time logging in multiple times each day!
  • When searching for a name under "Contacts," there's an option to add a NEW CONTACT whether or not a contact is found from the search. This NEW CONTACT button would be helpful to add when using the top search function as well. Instead, if a contact isn't found, I have to click on "Contacts" and then NEW CONTACT. It'd save a step and save some time.
  • When exporting the list, it'd be helpful to be able to select certain segments of the list - i.e. if I only want to export contacts with certain "Contact Tags," it'd be nice to select just those instead of having to download the full list and sort for those tags in Excel.
  • Centralized contact management
Yes - it's been the initial gathering point for our email contacts to upload into our email marketing program. I don't email directly out of Insightly or automate, but it's very helpful at gathering contacts. Our sales team will either bcc: or forward emails to/from customers into Insightly, and then Insightly can take that contact info to name the person, company, pull the email address, and add them as a contact. Then I can export that list out to our email marketing campaign as often as I'd like. It's affordable, easy and exactly what we need.
Insightly is well suited for how we are using it currently - as a gathering place for email contacts to be uploaded into our email marketing program. We aren't fully utilizing it as a CRM right now, but I see how that'd be a nice option if/when we get to that point.
