Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

We use Insightly on the Program (Operations) side of our organization. We track our constituents and constituents on the waiting list. We use Insightly to track funding, activities and contact information for each of these constituents. We use it for communications and to track the frequency of our outreach to them.

  • Without putting information in Notes, there is no way to maintain multiple fields' yearly information over several years.
  • Would like to be able to edit (re-order) the list of LIST VIEW queries
  • It would be great if the STATE field had a dropdown with the states listed
  • In NOTES, you can report on Comment count - It would be nice you could report on comment count in TASKS also
  • Close communications with our constituents has tripled due to implementing tasks and updating notes.
  • Have increased participation in our program by 75% by implementing improved communications tracking
  • Increased accuracy of our data by 95% by using reports to compare monthly Insightly results to raw data sources.

The software is easy to learn. Data entry is seamless and easy to navigate. It works best for Year-to-date data, but without putting information in Notes, there is no way to maintain multiple fields' yearly information over several years.
Email templates are useful and easy to use. Tasks are convenient for managing workflow.
There was a simple functionality that just changed - without warning. When we asked that it be repaired back to its original form, it took several months. We don't know if it is because we don't pay for the highest level of the software, but it seemed like it took too long.
Often when we ask other questions about functions of the software, the response we get is that we should buy a higher level (a level which would not suit our needs as a small nonprofit organization)

Well suited to containing and reporting many details of current data but less well-suited to long term data that needs to be reported on and compared throughout several years.

Doesn't seem quite right for a full donor database - not as many of the capabilities we look for in that type of system.
