Overall Satisfaction with Intacct
We currently use Intacct primarily in our finance/accounting department. In addition, we have a smaller distribution company and it is also used for purchasing and order entry.
Pros
- Very user friendly - almost anyone can log into the system and find their way through the modules
- Ease in accessing underlying documents - The drill down capabilities are extremely good with the ability to attach supporting documentation to transactions
- Errors in recording transactions can be fixed on the fly with the appropriate security access - system maintains histories of changes made
Cons
- Customer service - the standard customer service package sold with the software can be cumbersome and time consuming to navigate
- Online help could be better written to assist customers with finding solutions on their own
- Direct shipments - the system doesn't allow for direct shipments whereby purchase orders can be converted to sales orders
- Cash sales - the system doesn't allow for payment in the order entry screen when customers are paying at the point of sale
- Customer deposits are difficult to accommodate in the system as individual batches have to be created for one time payments
- Reliability of data
Integration completed 60 days prior to my arrival to the company
