Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

My firm uses Intacct in conjunction with Bill.com to provide outsourced accounting services to more than a dozen Not For Profit organizations on a monthly basis. Most of the organizations fall in the range of $3M - $7M in annual revenues. We do everything from AP processing, to closing the books, and presenting financial statements to the board. The biggest problem that Intacct solved for us was the ability to slice and dice the financial data in different ways depending on the user (C-level staff vs Program Managers vs board vs Membership).
  • Intacct is easy to navigate. Windows environment with drill down menus. It is awesome to be able to run a financial report and then click your way into a number all the way down to the transaction level.
  • The use of "groups" makes it easy to write financial reports that pull only the data that is relevant to the user.
  • The Intacct system is very easily accessible over the web and it functions at lightning fast speed. In the three years that I have used the system, I can't think of a single instance where the system was down.
  • I would like to see Intacct implement some regional user groups so that there is an ongoing exchange of ideas among users.
  • While I love the ability to attach documents in the system, it would be nice to be able to drag and drop attachments as opposed to the multiple clicks currently needed.
  • I applaud Intacct for opening up their software and allowing third party vendors to integrate. I have encountered a number of hiccups with various third parties not integrating seamlessly/making changes to their product which caused problems. I would like to see further support from Intacct when these issues arise as opposed to relying completely on the third party to resolve the issue.
  • The reporting capabilities within Intacct have greatly reduced the time needed to close the books each month. Previously, we would have to export data into Excel in order to draft financials due to system limitations. With Intacct, we were able to customize each client report and generate a package at the click of a button.
  • We are able to differentiate ourselves from our competitors because they get a high end GL package at the price of QuickBooks. We distinguish ourselves from our Great Plains competitors because we give clients real time access to their financial reports via dashboards.
  • QuickBooks Premier,Microsoft Dynamics GP,Microsoft Dynamics SL,Sage 50 Accounting,Abila MIP Fund Accounting
Intacct is far more robust than QuickBooks. It is easier to use than the others
Intacct is very well suited to an organization with lots of reporting requirements. With my clients, I simply use Intacct as a GL. If their needs involve event management or CRM systems, I always recommend that we address those needs/requirements before discussing the GL.
