Robust reporting and functionality, just missing payroll
Overall Satisfaction with Intacct
While my organization does not use Intacct directly, we do support clients through cloud based solutions. Intacct is a product that we recommend highly to our clients where we feel that it is a good fit. It helps to address the need for an accounting package that can deliver complex reporting needs.
Pros
- Robust, flexible reporting capabilities
- Security is huge for Intacct. I love that there is a continual improvement in securities.
- 99% uptime!
Cons
- I wish that the AP/bill pay functionality was included in the product. I use add on products that are ok, but not awesome.
- I would love if the chatter functionality could exist without the use of Salesforce. Many of my clients don't use SF and so the chatter is a lost feature.
- No payroll module.
- Intacct has increased visibility into management accounting objectives.
When looking at Quickbooks versus Intacct, there are a few things that are similar. We love that they are both cloud based offerings with great attention to securities. Both products also provide standard accounting reports and functionality, which would be expected. However, Intacct has far greater flexibility with reporting and also has great multi-entity accounting functionality. Intacct would be even better if it could offer payroll.
- 76% to 99% of clients

Ask more questions and explain my uses for more elaborate reports. The system is able to handle them, but knowing that at the beginning of the process would have alleviated some of the pains of having to create reports on the fly later using the standard dimensions when entering the information differently may have created better reports.
