Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We are initially using Intacct for revenue recognition and MEA, and to track and report data related to different dimensions of our business. It is used primarily by the accounting team but we are providing dashboards to other teams. We're also beginning to integrate with our T&E system and with Salesforce to eliminate duplicate entry and provide drill down capabilities to the source data.
  • Intacct is a core financial platform that growing companies or established businesses can use to expand from traditional compliance efforts to a value-added contribution by the finance team.
  • Intacct's accounting functionality around subscription based GAAP requirements for revenue recognition, including MEA calculations, and the ability to visualize bookings, deferred revenue, revenue, scheduled billings, etc, runs deep. Intacct's commitment to staying ahead of the curve on changes to those requirements in invaluable.
  • The ability to record, track, report and analyze data at the dimensional level provides great insight and actionable information to management teams.
  • We struggled at first to understand the reporting tools. Once they are set up, the reporting is excellent.
  • While most of the implementation process was highly intuitive, using a partner like Leap The Pond helped head off the challenges we couldn't solve for using the help functionality.
  • We're avoiding the need to add headcount based on efficiencies from integration
  • We can confidently present SaaS metrics to our board, investors and management team that inform our growing enterprise value
Intacct provides the optimal mix of structure, reliability, flexibility and integration to allow us to meet the needs of our organization and external reporting needs at all levels, and most importantly, enables informed decision making to support growth of the business. Other products are too loose to be reliable, too rigid to fit into our workflow, or too expensive.
We're a subscription and services revenue model company, so we needed strong revenue recognition functionality. We also wanted it to be easy to use and to provide data that informs other parts of our business. Intacct is well suited for scalability and the Intacct community is an added benefit to learn about best practices.

Sage Intacct Implementation

It's very intuitive for the most part. Having a strong partner like Leap The Pond helped us in many ways. They were able to anticipate problems and provide recommendations and best practices in real time. This worked because they took the time to understand our business model.
  • Professional services company
We used Leap The Pond to guide and support us through needs analysis, design and implementation. They provided a solid implementation plan that was customized for our needs and nuances, and helped work through challenges we faced internally to produce historical data from our old system and spreadsheets. Leap The Pond also added tremendous value by enabling us to understand how to think about the power of dimensions and groups that we can use to understand our business now and in the future.
Yes - Leap The Pond took us through a series of phases that were designed to allow us to execute on the implementation tasks in manageable bites, while informing and educating us on the capabilities of Intacct at the same time. This process worked well for us.
Change management was minimal - Implementing Intacct opened our eyes to what we could do versus what we had been doing. While change management was not a big part of the implementation, the ripple effect of being able to provide more actionable information that is reliable (i.e., not using spreadsheets) will likely drive change we haven't even considered yet.
  • Our ability to compile the data for historical upload. The actual upload was quite simple.
  • Creating rev rec spreadsheets that didn't exist.
