Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand

We use InVision Freehand to iterate design approaches for financial institutions. It helps us collaborate on a wide range of issues, including loan applications, icon development and user management to name a few. Our team is full of folks from all over the country with tons of experience in the financial space and InVision Freehand helps us get on the same page quickly. It's great for bringing our remote group together. While I think it works well as it is, I do wish there were a few more styling/editing features within the tool.
  • Allowing people to work together in real time.
  • Provides ample space to accommodate large groups without confusion.
  • Very little lag time.
  • Keeping consistent styles can be frustrating if you need to scale the page.
  • Lack of style options sometimes make it difficult to distinguish between users when working in large groups.
  • Templates would be helpful.
  • Providing a space for our team to collaborate and contribute design ideas together, rather than taking turns with screen shares.
  • Freehand allows us to keep things informal and communicate as much or as little detail as necessary. It's a great format for quick feedback.
  • Freehand gives us the space to meet quickly allowing projects to continue without interruption.

Do you think Freehand by InVision delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Freehand by InVision's feature set?

No

Did Freehand by InVision live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Freehand by InVision go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Freehand by InVision again?

Yes

For me, InVision Freehand has been most helpful in early stages of a project -- when I've made my initial designs and I'm looking for feedback to jumpstart the next iteration. It has also been helpful for our team to provide feedback on icon libraries. The large workspace allows for hundreds of icons to be visible with room for the team to vote on versions. I have found it to be less helpful when there are questions about the flow of a page or feature. Best to stick with click-through prototypes for that.
