Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand

From creative brainstorming to process diagrams all the way to external creative reviews, we use freehand to help us collaborate in real-time on many different types of documents and themes within our organization. It helps us collaborate remotely in a flexible whiteboard environment in a way that we no longer can in person.
  • Quick, sketchy based collaboration
  • It is great to get a lot of ideas out quickly
  • It is very easy to use and simple to get started
  • It doesn't handle structure content very well like mind-maps
  • It doesn't allow you to outline a flow chart and move connected elements around easily
  • It works well in Chrome, but seems to crash at times in Safari on the Mac
  • Pulling in existing mockups from Invision prototypes is a great way to see the functionality and make comments around it
  • I love the ability to pull in screenshots and add notes and comments that the whole team can see
  • I love how you can export groups of content and pull them into other presentations. You aren't locked in.
  • It has reduced meetings by enabling better collaboration
  • It has enable quicker alignment with clients
  • It has connected our team in a remote world, thus improving employee culture
While it seems less robust than some of these other tools, it does what it does very well and it is clear Invision is constantly iterating on it to make the tool better.

If you are working with a team of people remotely and you want to connect on ideas, comment, and review in real-time this is the tool for you. I love that you can easily pull in media of many types like images and Google docs all in the same space. If you want to create very structured flow diagrams or mind maps, there are still stronger tools out there for you.
