Overall Satisfaction with isolved

I use isolved for my payroll processing. We have 30 employees and I run 3 payrolls per month.
  • They allow me to create custom reports for whatever I need.
  • The onboarding process is very easy.
  • With the changes to w-4 forms, the process for employees to complete their onboarding sometimes the tax piece gets skipped. Not an issue with isolved, but more with how the forms are completed.
  • There are times when email response is longer than I like, but I am able to call and get help immediately.
  • Their support needs some work. I switched companies because of issues with support questions not being answered for days after the initial email.
  • They will hold your data hostage when you terminate services with them. Cost is $250 per month to access the data.
  • Employees lose access 30 days after you terminate services which means all access to w2s and pay stubs.
  • Allowing me to create and customize reports depending on what I need.
  • Customizing my payroll entry screens.
  • Employee self-service: Most of everything my employees need access to they can find on their own.
  • We have saved a lot of money using isolved. Our former company charged much more for the same services.
  • I'm able to process payroll in less time because their system is simple and easy to use.
The other payroll companies we used had their own systems that aren't listed here. They were much more complicated and harder to use.

Updated 2022 - we switched providers because of cost increases with isolved. 30 days after termination they cancel your access to their online system. That isn't a huge deal because I have copies of the reports and data I need, but they also terminate access for all employees, current and former. So if you have an employee who needs a copy of a pay stub or w2 they cannot access those any more. Cost per month is 250 for access to the system, which is about 75% of what I was paying for payroll access.

Setting up with isolved was a breeze. They worked with my former payroll company to make sure the transition was smooth. They have custom reports so no matter what you want to see in your payroll reports they can accommodate. I had some issues with reports I created and reached out to them for help. They had someone contact me and walked me through what needed to be changed. I appreciated their help and it allowed me to be able to set up other reports with the detail I needed. I also appreciate how easy it is for my new hires to complete the onboarding process.

isolved Support

We recently canceled our contract with Isolved and moved to Paychex. One thing to consider is that if you leave isolved all access to your data ends 30 days after termination of the contract. Not a big deal for me since I have the reports and data I need, but it is also terminated for your employees to access pay stubs or old w2s. If you want to keep access it is $250 per month.
It seems strange that they can hold your data hostage and they wouldn't just allow employees to have access to their pay stubs and other information they may need months after a change in payroll companies.

Relationship with isolved

Customer service is really lacking. I would send an email about payroll that was going to run in 2 days, and no one would get back to me for 3 or 4 days. Even if I called I'd be put on hold and then forced to leave a message and even then it would be 48 hours or more to get a call back.
We ended up switching recently to another platform and the response times to talk to a person are much better.
