Overall Satisfaction with Jobma

We are using their pre-recorded video interviews to screen candidates. One of the problems we were having earlier was trying to get down the number of applicants to our job to a manageable number was quite time-consuming. Calling candidates took time and there were often problems trying to get hold of them at the right time when they would be free to talk. Video interviews let us automate that process a little bit so that we weren't dependent on phone calls and scheduling issues. We invite the candidates we are interested into a pre-recorded video interview. They record a few short videos whenever they have some free time. And we watch them and decide which candidates are worth moving forward with. So it effectively reduced the number of candidates we would have to spend time on by a significant number.
  • Creating interviews and inviting candidates to those interviews is really easy to do. It's a simple two-step process.
  • Sharing candidate's video interviews is really elegant. You can send out a link, attach files to it, set an expiration date and even CC in multiple people.
  • The video quality is quite good. As is the audio quality. We never had problems with getting poor quality videos.
  • Their pricing is very flexible.
  • You can't download the interview videos. They are hosted on their site. I think it would be nice if we could download the videos.
  • We didn't use live video interviews that much but some more scheduling options would have been good. It is really pretty barebones.
  • We cut down the overall time we were spending screening candidates significantly. That means we were able to spend more time on quality candidates that we were really interested in.
  • The candidates we spoke with also had a really good experience doing video interviews. Overall candidate satisfaction and feedback were pretty positive.
  • Their pricing was really reasonable. We were able to get started at a very modest setup fee.
I used Skype for video calls. But you can't use it for pre-recorded video interviews since it doesn't have that functionality. We also needed something that was built from the ground up to cater to recruitment, Skype wasn't it. Lastly, I didn't like that we had to share contact information with candidates on Skype.
It's really great if you are looking for pre-recorded video interviews. It is easy to set up and use and that means you don't have to waste time training your staff to use it. It also works on mobile phones so your candidates can do interviews even if they don't have a computer. And the pricing is pretty flexible so you don't have a make a significant commitment up front.

However, if you only want to do live video interviews, I think there are better (and free) options available.
