Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training

This is a great product that addresses a major security risk that many companies overlook. Quite simply, it is a great product for educating end users and keeping them aware of email security, Phishing, and more. We onboard each new staff member by requiring them to complete a series of training. This product totally automates that process and includes the detailed reporting that you would expect. We were one of the first school districts in Nebraska to utilize this product, and it's been adopted by many others since. It's a product that you can set it up and let it run the campaigns and training for you, or you can manually do whatever you need as well. (Or a combination of both.) Its templates are great, but if needed, you can customize them as well. Their support is great, but honestly, you really hardly ever need them. Our customer service rep checks in every few months, and we normally take those calls and emails since they are pretty helpful with tips and other settings and not just a "sales call." This product is one that I would be hard-pressed to give up because it probably addresses the weakest link in the security chain, that being the end user and what they are willing to click on and give up for a free cup of coffee.
  • Phishing end users. It's got a vast feature set and is customizable as well.
  • Very easy management.
  • Great training modules. They are well done, and there are plenty to choose from to fit your needs.
  • Their customer reps are great at reaching out with new features and actually assisitng you with setting them up, etc.
  • Wow, right now, I really do not have anything. It's been such a solid product. Sorry, I sound like a salesperson on this one, but it's been a top-shelf product for us. They were one of the first in the market and the others in this space still seem to always fall short.
  • Since implementing this product, our end users have reduced their "clicks" on phishing emails dramatically. We saw a 10% reduction via the product reports, but all we have to do is talk to our employees to know that their awareness has improved by 100%. It's been an impactful product for us.
  • End-user awareness of phishing and other security matters is evident across all levels. There are so many training modules that address specific needs as well, so you will never use all of their modules or features, but I think that's a great thing in a product.
  • ROI is a tough one when it comes to the security area, and sometimes that's why money is not spent until it is too late. This product (and now the target area in the industry) finally addresses that critical need.
We have been with knowBe4 before there were any competitors in this market space. KnowBe4's experience continues to outshine its competitors. The last time we looked at these competitors, their features were not close to what we had in our current product, BUT they were less costly at the time. So you do want to look at your specific target needs. If it's just phishing emails, then they may be fine. If you're looking for a complete system including training modules and other feature sets along with the phishing, ... then they may not fit your needs. knowBe4 always seems to check every box we need while the others never do.

They are always adding content, and it's always relevant and high quality. Every year we use the Mitnick modules in the product, and they update those yearly, which is great. Those modules alone are worth it. Everyone has different needs depending on their area, so some modules will not fit your need, but they have them if you do.
Ours is automated via AD connection, so users are automatically pulled right from AD based on a group or AD OU. I know you can do it other ways, but if you have AD you would want to automate this process. (And yes, you can exempt a user from being pulled into the product even though they happen to be in that OU or group. We have to do this once in a while since we don't really require training for that user, but they do need to be in that OU.) We do SSO through Google and it also works well.
The phishing security report for each of our campaigns is always valuable. You have a lot of flexibility here, but we really don't need it in our school district. We automate the reports to selected individuals including our IT staff and make recommendations and take action on those results.
If you are looking for a product to keep your users trained and always looking for potential security risks/threats in your email, then this is an amazing product. They have expanded it along the way to address many needs that companies have. Its reports give you insight into your users and the ability to adjust what happens next. (More training, etc...) There are so many companies (and, in our case, School Districts) that spend a lot of resources on firewalls, antivirus, malware detection, etc... but ignore the major threat of end users just making bad decisions. All you have to do is look at the stats to figure out your risk in this area. After implementing this product, we saw our users clicking on the way fewer phishing links, and awareness skyrocketed. I can base this on our reports via the product, but I didn't need reports to see how our users have just been way more aware throughout our school district.

KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training New Features

We use the Active Directory integration and it works seamlessly. We also use a Google SSO and it work well. (Pull emails out of AD for that SSO integration to work.)
We have not really explored this aspect, so I don't want to comment on this feature.
It is a very mature product for this segment. It is simple to use and mange but has a powerful feature set.
We do not use their PhishER product.

Using KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training

200 - Everything from our leaders to our basic workers within our School District. This includes all teachers and non-certified staff.
1 - There are several that are familiar with the product and have enough knowledge to use it, but this duty falls on one person within our organization. That being said, it is ver simple to use and they offer good support should a question come up.

  • Obtaining security baselines and improving upon those baselines
  • Security trianing on a variety of topics
  • Not sure on this, since it seems to address our every need.
  • All of it's feature sets meet our needs, so not sure what else we would want in the future. I am sure AI will play more important roles with this product in the future.
I can no image not using this product for the impact is has for us.

Their customer relations person reason out and often provides some one-on-one review of new features and gives us tips. They will also help in implementing those new features, phishing campaigns, etc...
